I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations on the completion of this video series on Morita Therapy, made possible through the dedicated efforts of everyone involved. I viewed it immediately, and it is exceptionally well done.

I was deeply impressed by Dr. Chihiro Fujita, who serves as the commentator, as well as by the sincere, unpretentious performances of the individuals who appear as patient representatives.

The natural scenery that appears throughout—especially the pleasant flow of the river—symbolizes the very essence of Morita Therapy. Unlike Western psychotherapies, which are conducted entirely indoors, Morita Therapy, born uniquely in Japan, places great importance on one’s relationship with nature.

Although I am not a follower of the Morita school, I firmly believe that Morita Therapy has much to teach us. This video will be extremely helpful to anyone suffering from neurotic anxieties, regardless of whether they choose to undergo Morita Therapy. Naturally, it will also serve as valuable reference material for anyone studying psychiatry more broadly. It surpasses countless ordinary reference books.

Morita Therapy is one of the few psychotherapies born in Japan that has also gained international recognition. Although I am not a practitioner of Morita Therapy myself, I believe that as long as one is Japanese, regardless of the school of thought one belongs to, one inevitably learns something from the perspectives and techniques of Morita Therapy.
Japanese people tend to live in a way in which religion is seamlessly interwoven into everyday life, and this becomes strongly apparent when watching this video. Buddhism is not explicitly discussed, yet within the daily tasks and work activities shown, one can sense the profound everydayness that lies at the heart of Morita Therapy.
It is extremely difficult to explain or convey this aspect through language alone, but the medium of video proves to be remarkably effective in making it accessible. This work will surely serve as excellent teaching material for those studying psychotherapy in graduate programs and beyond.

Patients going through Morita therapy will be aware that the symptom is not really a problem they need to eliminate.
